The role

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic field applications engineer to join our Technical Services team. This role is pivotal in assisting OEM and Print Engineers to seamlessly integrate and effectively use our SmartDFE products. As a bridge between our technology and our customers, you will ensure our partners can leverage SmartDFE capabilities to the fullest, accelerating their time to market with innovative printing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth technical support and guidance for the integration and use of SmartDFE products.
• Collaborate with OEM and Print Engineers, offering hands-on assistance to ensure successful implementation and optimization of our technology.
• Conduct on-site or remote training sessions for clients, emphasizing product capabilities, color management, halftone screening, and basic Linux networking.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and support materials.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SmartDFE integration and performance.
• Design and implement sample code.
• Continuously update and improve your knowledge of print engineering technologies, including advancements in color management and screening.
• Engage in proactive communication with the R&D team to relay customer feedback and contribute to product enhancements.

Requirements

• Proven track record in software engineering or related field.
• Solid foundation in engineering principles with a passion for continuous learning and personal projects in the engineering domain.
• Proficient in programming languages such as C, C++ or C#, with a keen understanding of Agile software development practices.
• Proven experience in customer-facing roles, with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with color management processes, halftone screening techniques and basic Linux networking (for example, configuring folder shares and ports).
• Ability to travel as required to provide on-site support and training to our customers.
• Experience in the print industry is a plus, but not required.
• Industrial machinery experience with OPC UA knowledge would be useful.
