The Harlequin PLUS Server RIP (v8.1) is the latest evolution of the Harlequin RIP based on Global Graphics’ next generation technology. It is part of a new range of cross-platform, driver-based, embedded and server-based printing solutions based on a common architecture. The kernel processor at the heart of the RIP has been re-engineered to provide more processing power. That’s why this version of the RIP is called Harlequin PLUS because it gives you more… more power, more productivity and more flexibility in pre-press, digital printing and workflow applications.

For high-volume production environments and print-for pay applications, our JDF-enabled Harlequin® RIP technology has the power to drive MFPs and digital presses at full speed. Many processes are handled in the RIP - trapping, simple imposition, font emulation, color management.
Its speed, flexibility and rich set of features, coupled with its open architecture, means that Harlequin RIP customers can build a vast array of solutions for CtP, proofing, DI presses, short-run printing and wide format printing. The Harlequin RIP drives a wide range of digital printing devices from entry level presses to the HP Indigo Production Manager System used to support large HP workflow solutions.

- Native processing of PDF 1.7 (in addition to previously available native support for PDF 1.6 through to PDF 1.0 and native processing of PostScript)
- Native processing of XPS 1.0 files

- JDF 1.3 compatible

- Multithreaded rendering that helps remove RIP bottlenecks in handling raster data and takes full advantage of the new Duo and Quad core technologies
- PDF retained raster that speeds up variable data processing

- Compatible with Windows® Vista™ and with MAC OS X (10.5 Leopard)
