Today, with the availability of low-cost, high-quality inkjet proofing devices, users such as designers and ad agencies "upstream" from the pre-press or printing production facility want desktop color proofing solutions that will give them great looking color proofs "out of the box." And print production professionals are looking for cost-effective proofing solutions that will ensure that they can match the proof on press.
To address this need, Global Graphics has developed the ProofReady™ Plugins for Harlequin® RIP. ProofReady plugins are currently available to Harlequin RIP OEMs for driving printers from Canon, Epson and HP. This plugin-based output support provides OEMs with the tools they need to deliver "out of the box" color proofing quality to their customers.
To help OEMs create accurate proofing profiles is Harlequin SetGold™, a wizard-based color utility designed to create high quality gray balance or "Golden State" input, emulation and output profiles, optimized for the Harlequin RIP, in order to satisfy today's color accurate proofing requirements. Color accurate proofing is only possible if devices can be calibrated and profiles can be optimized for a given ink, substrate, screening and resolution combination.
