Print Solutions

Global Graphics is uniquely positioned to provide native XPS, PDF, PostScript, and PCL printing from one common RIP core which can drive the full range of printing devices available today, from low-end consumer printers up to full production 400ppm+ digital presses. Our XPS RIPs contain the most advanced RIP feature set in the market, achieve industry-leading high-performance output levels and have an extensive API allowing OEMs to integrate their own specific technologies. We use the same RIP core in host-based, embedded, and server-solutions enabling our OEMs to interface both legacy and future devices.

Only a native XPS print path will provide the optimized image quality that Windows Presentation Foundation/XPS offers: support for transparencies; support for smooth gradients; enhanced color support including scRGB color; improved typography support.

Global Graphics’ RIP SDK’s enable the building of products and solutions that are fully compliant with the Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) testing requirements enabling OEMs to achieve Vista Premium logo status.

Legacy print devices

Use Global Graphics’ eDocument Library to provide fast, high-performance conversion from XPS to device-supported formats such as PostScript® and PCL.

Raster devices

Shorten development cycles and accelerate your time to market by creating your custom XPS printer driver or other host-based application using our Harlequin® PLUS Host Renderer SDK. Our technology can be configured to support a wide range of raster-driven devices and is extremely flexible, allowing you to add your own technology at all stages of the rasterization process.

Embedded devices

Configurable support for multiple PDL formats, a compact and efficient software kernel, and sophisticated graphics and color handling routines, ensure our Harlequin® PLUS Embedded SDK delivers the ideal software solution for embedded controllers suited for a vast array of devices including both monochrome and color printers and Multi Function Peripherals (MFPs).

For digital print devices with on-board PDL support, but restricted in-device resources, a Scalable Consumption solution can be used as a means of controlling the flow of data to the device to facilitate efficient printing.

High-end print server/digital front end

For high-volume production environments and print-for pay applications, the Harlequin® PLUS Server RIP (v8.0) offers the power and performance to drive MFPs and digital presses at full speed. Many processes are handled in this JDF-enabled RIP including native high quality PDL interpretation, trapping, simple imposition, font emulation, color management and other OEM or third party capabilities. The Harlequin RIP can be driven via a sophisticated interface for command control and configuration providing the scalability to drive multiple RIPs, or via an optional user-friendly interface which puts the all the power of all this technology at the operator's fingertips.

Legacy print devices

Fast, high-performance conversion from XPS to device-supported formats such as PostScript® and PCL.

Raster devices

Supports devices that are driven by raster generated on the host.

Embedded 'scalable' devices

Provides support for the full range of XPS capabilities on devices with minimal local resources.

Embedded devices

Enables native XPS support within the device.

High-end print server/DFE

High performance XPS consumption with the digital print workflow.

Global Graphics RIP solutions offer native XPS, PDF, PostScript, and PCL printing, providing direct consumption of the document by the print driver or print device without conversion to another intermediary format. This native interpretation offers many benefits including optimized image quality, faster processing and accurate file rendition.
